Article – Why the Wisdom from ‘The 5 Agreements’ can be good for Business

Back in November 1997 Don Miguel Ruiz published a little book called ‘The four Agreements – A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom’. In 2010 a follow up book, ‘The Fifth Agreement – A Practical Guide to Self-Mastery’ was published. Of all the books I have read about personal development and business subjects I found these two books to be amongst the most useful. The recommended conduct described in these books are said to be based on ancient Toltec wisdom. People who live by the five agreements are said to be able to live a more fulfilling live. The Toltec believed that there was no ‘reality’ per se, but that each individual ‘dreamt up’ their own reality based on https://aucasinosonline.com/ their perceptions, senses, environment, location, etc. The fact that a group of people would share the same view of the world (their dream – their reality) would not mean that these views would be more valid than those of others who perceived things differently. According to the Toltec the reality of each individual is shaped by many internal and external factors that we choose to accept or reject as we see fit. In other words we create and choose our own reality. The concept of multiple realities has been around and talked about by many thinkers and philosophers in different part of the world Gareth Morgan in ‘Images of Organisation’ also writes about this concept when he talks about ‘culture’ in general and within organisations in particular…..
